This web log has been created as an adventure documentary journal to log events, places, people, things to do, insights and other important information or ideas. This is a 21st century way to communicate that can also be a source of funding to pay for adventure travel, accommodations, food, and other expenses.
Primarily, this particular web log is for me to have a place to express uninhibited yet in such a way that can be shared. Those who read this log are those who want an unedited account of life as it unfolds for me in this mission and vision of "being a catalyst for the uplifting of humankind and the establishment of an enlightened global society and sustainable ecological system which creates rather than destroys."
In 1991 I had a vision, one of the only visions I've had my whole life. I saw global travelers being able to explore the world and pay for their entire trip through writing, photography, music, and video. I didn't understand at the time how this could be, but I eagerly pursued that vision thinking it may manifest any day.
In 1992 I formed a non-profit organization called the International School of Documentary Production. This was shortly after the completion of my first successful film called the Treasure Hunters:
Mineral Exploration in Alaska. Then I went to Honduras and was introduced by the dedicated people there to a concept called "Desarrollos Sostenbile" which means Sustainable Development. Originally thinking that I went to Honduras to help the people there, they in turn opened my eyes and heart which caused me to return home to Alaska and learn how to take care of my own back yard.
[Note to self: reveal rest of history based upon outline then a search for related material already written such as personal history, operations history, etc.]Then came the SISD, the AMI, and then the ARTwork Company which gave birth to "Lost in Paradise", a major motion picture about People and Nature... the connection and the disconnection.
Well it's taken about 17 years and I'm glad to finally see this dynamic vision come to fruition. Many times before the dream and vision were realized yet they were not sustainable. I either did not recognize or appreciate that everything I had wished for came true or I was too attached to it or I became arrogant, ignorant, and/ or judgemental. The worse thing I have ever done to prevent or destroy this vision was to allow myself to become too indifferent, complacent and eventually apathetic (no emotion), no feeling, no love.
Last night I had no money, no job, no car, no shelter and unsure what to do or where to go. I followed insight, intuition and passion and it led me hundreds of miles away from the comfort, safety and security that I had available if I wanted to persist in my complacency. Instead I "busted a move" as Snowleopard used to say and embarked upon a grand adventure. As much as I love Girdwood, or Glacier City, it is a vortex for laziness, or absence of enthusiasm. It is a mecca for drug and alcohol abuse, and can be terribly depressing when it is dark, cold and rainy.
Less than 24 hours later I aligned with and/or manifested a car, a place to stay, some money, upcoming work I enjoy, potential creative projects and renewed enthusiasm. There is also a sense of tribe and sustainability here that I had not expected.
Just now my intution was again pressing me to contact Niki and invite and welcome her to participate with me in the unfolding of this wildest dream. I wonder if it is best I call her later or now? I choose later. What say you Creator? Call her now. NLP cross-check...
1308 hrs. I just called Niki and left a message for her to call me back when she has a few minutes of undivided attention.
Now, below is what I wrote earlier today. This goes into more detail as to what has happened since yesterday. Eventually this whole weblog will be more organized into segments so that those who are interested in the highlights of the material do not need to read through everything. Instead, the, we, can simply click on areas of interest such as my personal journal which I am pasted below until it is its own document.
One of the keys to sustainability is to act upon insights as soon as they come- or as soon thereafter as is best.

The purpose of this school exploring, discovering and sharing the beauty, wisdom and mystery of Alaska and Nature.
The mission is providing the best multi-media production training available in the world for all ages and skill levels.
We blend the best of indigenous wisdom and the latest technology so that you and those you love may experience the wonder and magick of life along with practical skills for survival and sustainable living.
Henry David Thoreau is known to have said, "In wildness is the preservation of the world." We explore this wisdom in order to discover how it is that wildness, both in nature and in human nature can preserve the world.
Other wisdom such as that of Deepak Chopra is studied and applied. In his book, "Seven Spiritual Laws of Success" he explains how there are two ways to experience Bliss, Freedom and Unlimited Creativity. That is a tall order in that it gives us nearly everything that we may possibly want. One way to experience Bliss, Freedom and Unlimited Creativity is by observing nature. Many may agree that there are few greater sources of joy than those provided by nature- seeing wildlife (bears, moose, wolves, whales, etc) or landscapes, sunrises, sunsets, full moons, waterfalls, or the stars at night.
Basic Instruction includes honing skills of Shooting • Editing • Broadcasting all in a single day. That way you can experience the entire process from concept to completion while engaging the all-important marketing aspect of any successful business or school. "Marketing" is synonymous with sharing. Sharing is essential in order to survive, to live well, and to thrive abundantly both in business and in the spiritual realms.
The goal is to teach children, teens and adults, those who want to learn, how to live "the best of both worlds", Nature and technology, wilderness and society, being alone and getting along well with others.
The ultimate objective is symbiosis* between self and source
*Symbiosis means for mutual benefit and through the Alaska Film School it means mutual benefit that creates a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts, otherwise known as the Mystery. This includes miracles, blessings, silver linings, luck, fortune, bliss, freedom and unlimited creativity.
All that writing came in a wave of insight prior to meditation which I am going to do now. Then I am going to upload the above to the weblog so that others may get something out of it and to help me remember when I forget.
If nothing else, once again the mystery is alive and abundance is flowing.
Namely the beauty and wildness and feeling of getting here, trusting in the unknown, leaping into the great beyond with no money, no car, no job.
Here is the way I plan to start today's entry:
I am an outlaw... have been since I was four of five years old. I have been a fugitive most of my life, breaking laws and running from the law and rarely getting caught. The few times I did get caught the penalties were harsh- primarily confinement at hard labor and no longer having freedom to come and go.

Food and warm, dry shelter, and the movie "Blow" which reminds me to either not break the law or make sure I do not get caught, both of which in my mind and in my life is up to Nature, You and I, mostly Nature.
There are many laws that are unjust and the US Constitution of which I have been a defender since before joining the Marine Corps in 1986, holds that it is our civil duty to break rules and laws that are unjust or unconstitutional, such as prohibition.
"A prohibition law goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite through legislation and makes crimes out of things that are not crimes. A prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which this country was founded."

Just received a call from Wil, the guy who runs and likely owns this Hostel.
He say some of the videos on YouTube and though he said he doesn't agree with a lot of it, he still enjoyed them.
Having no money I was going to camp out, but I forgot a tarp and it was windy and rainy. So I went to the Hostel and planned to ask Wil if he c
"Can you put me up for the night?" I asked him.
Sure he says but I wasn't sure if he understood that I didn't haver any money.
When I told him I wanted to offer a work-trade for a night's stay he replied, "I owe you a night." and then I remember the last time I was here years ago, I paid in advance two days and only stayed one or something liked hat.
"Oh, yeah, I remember!" I exclaimed gratefully. But I had a look of confusion on my face perhaps cuz I didn't really remember exactly the details.
Then he said, "Let's just pretend that's the way it is."
I felt happy and relieved. It has been embarrassing and diminishing... humbling or humiliating in the past to have to ask for shelter for food or money or anything. I got better and better at it but I still want to be more independent.
That is why I am focusing so much now on how I may best live, work and play sustainable, holistically, no longer so afraid nor lethargic to do what must be done for basic sustenance.
First things first, Meditation including prayer and intentions...
The following is the recording I use. It is a bit fast and I plan to make a new one, bur for now this will work. THe challenge is to hear what is said and to follow along. When I do it leads to new levels of connection to source, to breathing and to love. This meditation also allows me to be of service to the whole planet
When Wil called he asked me what my plans were. He knows I intend to go across the Bay, but he offered me a place to stay for the next couple of weeks here at the hostel. He's going out of town and needs people he can trust. I am honored that he trusts me.
Last note before beginning this meditation... I marvel at how wonderful, effortless, wild and fun it is just to embark into the unknown, face fears and challenges, maybe go hungry for an hour or two, maybe have to walk a few miles, and then Wow, one serendipitous encounter after another.
Last night I called Scott Wright and he said I can use his car.

11:03 hrs...
just finished meditation. Several insights came. One was Niki... inviting her here to the Hostel to co-create the reality that she spoke of, doing it here now. Another was calling Lassa which will determine a lot. Another was telling Wil that I will definitely stay here in order to write and publish stories, photos and video. The insight came to make a documentary about Seldovia or Homer or both. Survival and Sustainable Living is s priority. Each of the people I met on the journey here are likely key components to the unfolding of this mission.
Now that there are these basic insights I can go through one by one and decipher using NLP
Act upon each element highlighted in BOLD.
I must remember to breathe through all of this.

Just spoke with Lassa about helpin' him out. He was glad to hear from me and he says I can help them break down for the season starting around Solstice to the end of the month.
Then I called Wil to give him my Hawaii number which works better than the Alaska number. I told him I have work and a ride across the Bay in two weeks. He told me I can make myself at home here at the Hostel, but that I'll have to buy my own food.
"Of course," I responded. I sure didn't expect him to pay me or provide food. It is great enough to have such a cool place to stay. He's going to be around for a couple of days and then gone for a couple of weeks.
11:11 is the time and I am wondering if it is best to coordinate a production here. The eleven eleven time is an omen that, "Yes! It is best." I still wonder though so I shall first make a heartfelt decision and my decision is YES! What say you Creator by whatever name? "Yes, do it. Include others, as many as want their names in the credits.
David: Is this a "Lost in Paradise" production?
Nature: If you wish it to be.
David: Is it best that it is?
Nature: That depends upon whether or not you are ready to share your wildest dream.
David: I sure am and I realize more than ever that this is a process and there is no better time to begin than right now.
Nature: So be it then.
